This blog is to help us ponder truth as we share our insights and inspirements throughout the week.
Each week will start with a question. You are asked to ponder it, discuss it with your family, and seek evidence for the answer in any of your studies that week. Post your inspirements too!

'Why can't the LOVE of CHRIST Travel as Fast as Gossip does with Our Neighbors?'

This question had a lot to do with 'Bonds that Make Us Free' reading for Master class. Why do we choose gossip and blame over love and kindness? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Also, here is my Word Study on CHARITY if anyone wants to look through it. :)

  1. I think it has something to do with the natural man in each of us. We are naturally selfish as humans, so we like to spread gossip because on the surface, putting others down makes us feel like we're bringing ourselves up, when in reality, sharing love and kindness brings us up as well as others.

  2. I think that people a lot of the times just don't think. It's the natural man, like Isaiah said. If we don't think about doing good, then we'll just slip into our natural man.

  3. If only our conversations with each other about others could have these motives behind them:

"Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone’s differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone doesn’t handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another’s weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other."

This quote is by Marvin J. Ashton, and as I read it I thought what great neighborhoods and communities we would have if everyone treated each other with charity. Why don't we start acting that way and see if it is contagious?

    1. I love that quote, Sis. Pack! I wonder what would happen...

  4. I think it has a lot to do with wrong use of agency. We choose to let Satan warp our perception of what will bring us true joy and freedom, and then we act on that which leads to results completely opposite of what we ultimately want. What we ultimately want (or what we should) is Charity. :)
