This blog is to help us ponder truth as we share our insights and inspirements throughout the week.
Each week will start with a question. You are asked to ponder it, discuss it with your family, and seek evidence for the answer in any of your studies that week. Post your inspirements too!

Charity
Charity is really a profound love, a love that motivates you to action.  If we were filled with this love we would be kind in All circumstances.  “There are many attributes which are manifestations of love, such as kindness, patience, selflessness, understanding, and forgiveness…these and other such attributes will help make evident the love in our hearts.” –President Monson
When we are filled with this love we will more fully be able to follow President Monson’s counsel:  “All important will be our ability to recognize someone’s need and then to respond.”
I am starting to understand this to a small degree.  I have a HUGE fear of writing.  Love, however, can get you to do things that you would otherwise not do.  This writing is happening because of my love for my daughter.  I want to be an example to her.  She is expected to do hard things.  I need to be willing to do hard things as well.
I have been praying for charity as charity is the pure love of Christ. Pure meaning that it is genuine, real, true, incorrupt.   The Savior never wanted or expected anything in return for his love.  It was genuine, true love.  He wasn’t thinking about what he would get out of it, or if someone would see him doing this great deed, or even not wanting people to see him because of whom he was around.  He did what he did because of the love he had for the people.  With the ultimate sacrifice being the evidence of his pure love for each of us.
As we follow President Monson’s counsel to recognize and then respond to other’s needs our love will increase for them and we will begin to develop Christ-like love so “at the last day, it shall be well with [us].”
